MX Player (Reproductor MX) is a newer video player that is meant more for average home users than VLC player is.
MX Player (Reproductor MX) has injected lots of new technology into the Android video playback app market. It also is the first video player to use multi-core technology for playback. This means you can use all of your device to play it and cut back on battery consumption, all while maintaining a good picture. It doesn't have a broad codec support base, but it supports all the essential video formats.
The app has some special subtitling options, as well. It supports .srt files, many of which you can find for free online. It even lets you style the captions for the most readability. There are even parental control options on it. MX Player is great for giving your kids entertainment in the car, and you know it won't put a huge drain on your battery. Because the app itself is free, there are paid plug-ins that you can get for it. These are just extra options that you may find helpful, but the core product is free.
Overall, MX Reproductor is a great app that is similar to VLC but has its own set of advantages. Unless you're a power user, this is a great choice to download.
Pros:
- Uses multi-core technology for great performance
- Has custom subtitling display options
- Has parental control options
Cons:
- Many advanced functions are not free
- Does not have the wide range of codec support that VLC does
- We optimize forget PIN flow for Private folder
- You can now manually select external subtitles on the local network shares
